WELCOME TO AIR FORCE WEEK OMAHA 2008!
Air Force Week in the Heartland will be supported by Offutt Air Force Base in Bellevue, Nebraska with numerous large and small events planned throughout the week in venues spanning the entire state of Nebraska, western Iowa, southeast South Dakota and northern Kansas. The week will begin with a proclamation event in Omaha that will feature celebrity appearances, music, and display by America's Air Force. The week will culminate with the Offutt AFB "Defenders of Freedom" open house and air show with a performance by the Air Force Thunderbirds. Other events planned during the week include an Expo at Shadow Lake Towne Center in Papillion, Nebraska, a senior leaders symposium in Lincoln, Nebraska, performances by the Tops in Blue and Heartland of America band, a technology town hall meeting, a golf tournament, and many other exciting activities.
OPENING CEREMONIES
Opening Ceremonies will be held on Saturday, August 9, 2008 in Omaha, Nebraska. The Governor of Nebraska, the Honorable Dave Heineman, will sign the official proclamation to start Air Force Week followed by performances by the Air Force drill team and United States Air Force Academy (USAFA) jump team.
